The 15" T185MX has a two-piece back carved from solid
mahogany with beautiful figuring, solid mahogany sides, and a hand carved solid
maple soundboard. The T185MX is also fully hollow, with a small block
underneath the bridge and tailpiece.
The body is wrapped in figured maple binding with a pair of
black pinstripes and single black line, around the f-holes, fretboard, and
headstock. Pearl dot position markers line the ebony fretboard, the same wood used for
the truss-rod cover. And an Eastman logo inlaid in maple on the headstock.
It is a pleasure to play unplugged and it has impressive
sustain and without an amp. Unlike an ES-335 that is all laminate woods the
T185MX is constructed with all solid woods for a fraction of the cost.
We have used this guitar as a demo model at our store. It is
in an almost mint condition but I will call it excellent condition. The only
visual imperfections on the guitar is a spot on the upper bout next to neck on
bass side, you can see that the lined part of binding that the lines do don’t
connect. The other thing I have noticed is on the back by the neck heel joint it appears that the book matched back
does not match up perfectly but you cannot even feel the seam when running your
finger over it, just a looks thing.
has never been previously owned by an individual. These imperfections are only
cosmetic and do not affect the playability or tone of this guitar. Sounds like
guitar you would think cost thousands more.
