A classic two EL-34 output section with solid state rectifier and three 12 AX7’s.  The Lead 55 employs later “plexi” tone control components with a 33k slope resistor and 500pf cap. This gives more midrange emphasis with the classic crunch associated with the British amp sounds of the late 60’s. A split cathode arrangement gives a bit more gain. Heyboer transformers with additional iron and the highest quality laminates ensure “non-woofy” bass response. Output section voltages around 485vdc. All filter caps are F&T double 50 uf.
